In the last week of December we welcomed a new B2B company as a client. Despite the current economy we continue to grow, in large part because of our dedicated clients who continue to provide strong references for us each time we are engaged in speaking with a potential client. Thank you!
Making the World Better With SEM
Derek volunteered a few hours of his time providing website usability recommendations for the SEM Challenge. Their goal is to help FORGE, a U.S.-based NGO working with displaced communities in Africa, raise $100,000 within 100 days.

Derek’s post, “A Web Analytics Checklist for B2B Search Engine Marketing Programs“, Andy’s post, “7 Search Marketing Strategies for Manufacturers & Distributors“, and Andy’s guest article on Highrankings.com, “5 Keyword Strategies for B2B PPC Campaigns“, were all featured. Search Engine Land is one of the premier publications in our industry.
Brafton Tailored News Feeds Update
In recent issues (Nov & Dec) we have discussed our progress in implementing custom news content on the KoMarketing website.
The news content is being provided by Brafton, Inc., a company that provides custom news stories for websites (unique content) and uses its technology to provide fresh news feeds.
We have now created and posted a Google News Sitemap, and Brafton is in the process of submitting our News pages to Google News editors for review and inclusion in Google News.
We will be analyzing the results and providing a summary in the next issue.
The “last” step in the process will be to create RSS feeds for the news stories and syndicate the content on appropriate websites (“last” step because we will be contnually looking for syndication opportunities).
We have no financial relationship with Brafton, we just feel that they provide a useful tool in the battle for search engine traffic.

Derek Edmond is now an equity partner in KoMarketing Associates, LLC! Derek joined KoMarketing in October, 2005. He has been instrumental in the growth of the company, and has firmly established himself as an expert in the Search Marketing industry. Please join me in congratulating Derek!
We Just Turned FIVE!
The news about Derek seems especially appropriate as KoMarketing Associates celebrates its 5th Birthday!
January 2, 2004 is the day I officially began working on my own after leaving Banta Interactive (now a tiny fraction-of-a-fraction of the operations at RR Donnelley).
It has been an amazing ride going from working solo in a bedroom office, to leasing office space, to making my first hire, to setting up payroll & benefits, to adding our 5th employee (including myself), to bringing on Derek as a partner.
There have been so many milestones along the way I won’t even attempt to distill the list down any further. These past five years have been the most enjoyable in my entire professional career! There have been some downs among the many ups, but throughout everything I have consistently felt as if this is where I have been meant to be.
2009 is sure to be a monumental year for us. While I cannot claim to predict “where we’ll be” in December 2009, I do know that we already have some exciting things planned.
Our company is strong. Our team is too. Financially, we have grown every year – this past year included.
We will continue to serve our clients with highly effective & creative online marketing strategies, tactics, and implementation services that build their businesses.
In 2009 we will generate positive economic returns for our clients. That sounds like a good place to start…
