Survey: Many B2B websites not optimized for Google Caffeine
2010-05-19
A new survey conducted by Irbtrax has found that 75 percent of B2B websites were not optimized for Google Caffeine.Though this number marks a 10 percent improvement over a similar survey conducted at the end of 2009, the results still show that many businesses are missing out on B2B search engine optimization opportunities.
The survey also found that many of the sites examined lacked updated, new or unique content on their web pages, used META tags improperly, had confusing internal linking formats, or did not use social media.
"The goal of Google Caffeine is to continue enhancing the speed, relevancy and accuracy of user search experience with a greater emphasis on real-time results," said Irbtrax founder Scott Moir. "This focus on user experience is not only important to Google but studies show it should also be a top priority for every business to business website."
Google launched Google Caffeine in the summer of 2009. The Google Caffeine search algorithm focuses more heavily on keywords and the legitimacy of the end site when determining search rankings.
