Companies investing in online content to drive traffic

According to one recent report, more than eight out of ten companies surveyed said they were using some type of content marketing to better engage with potential and existing clients.

The survey, conducted by HiveFire, revealed 82 percent of firms asked were using the strategy and that 78 percent them were using the method to generate more leads. There are other ways that customers can take advantage of online platforms. The study found 70 percent of businesses were using search engine marketing to get found on the internet.

"The future of marketing is not about selling so much as it is about engaging,"Pawan Deshpande, CEO of HiveFire, said in a release. "This is what resonates with customers and why marketers have embraced content marketing in such large numbers."

Other statistics don't lie either. According to the recent State of Search Marketing Report, conducted by eConsultancy, 86 percent of marketing professionals asked said they were investing in search engine optimization. In addition, 74 percent stated that they were using social media marketing to reach out to people.
