Facebook Poll: How Are You Using It?

Written by on April 16th, 2009

After some recent conversations among my friends & family about “Facebook burnout”, and my own avoidance of the site, I thought it would be interesting to collect some data here for everyone to share about how readers of our blog use Facebook.

I am assuming that the vast majority of our readers are active users of the Web for business, so the results will be (intentionally) skewed in that direction:

And another very short Facebook advertising poll…

Just got a message from a business friend about this poll:

“I have a Facebook page, but I can’t stand it. I use it only because some people don’t have a LinkedIn page and it’s the only way of reaching them. But I don’t put much on my page, and I have the privacy settings at the max.

I don’t like it that I have a mix of personal “friends” (people I really don’t associate with but know in real life) and business associates. It weirds me out to see my clients doing personal stuff on Facebook.”

I feel exactly the same way!

We are seeing low CTRs on our advertising, but decent conversion rates on those that do click. It’s not mind-blowing, but it appears worth doing from our end.

@Todd Bairstow – thanks for adding the thoughts on conversion rates. It’s helpful to hear as many experiences as possible (and I know your comment is real!)

I have tried to load it to my mobile with no success so with that I have not ever tried it again, for me its really not a big thing.
